Sita

Behold this scintillating south-of-the-border senorita named Sita. OK, so maybe this fair-haired, blue-eyed cactus flower doesn't hail from the land of white sand beaches and ancient Aztec ruins, but her parents obviously had Spain or Mexico (or is it India?) in mind when they named her. And I'm glad they did because it influenced her choice for a portrait concept.

This is a special portrait for me. Why? Because Sita MADE the creative process special for me. My aesthetic engine ran for MONTHS on her positive vibes and nonstop enthusiasm. She provided the conceptual nucleus and the artistic spirit (and no, I'm not referring to the spirits she's clutching in her portrait), and I had a jolly good time interpreted that vision of hers. And incidentally, my reference material couldn't have been better. Sita provided photos of herself striking the exact pose of the concept sketch I initially emailed her. So the mamasita you see above is her from head to toe.

Aside from being hotter than lunch in Cancun and livelier than Carnaval, that Sita is one sweet young lady. Even after the art was delivered to Sita, she made me feel as if I had just unveiled a masterpiece to the Guggenheim Museum in front of a crowd of cheering art appreciators. In all my years, I have never met a woman that respected the efforts of the artist more than Miss Sita, and I mean that in complete earnestness.

A successful collaboration wouldn't you say, Sit'? Oh, and keep the tequila worm for yourself, doll face. You deserve it.
