Karla

"Les...Your in-up makes me smile so much. Totally the best bit of change I ever spent. I showed it to a friend of mine who is not typically attracted to fat girls and even he loved it. LOL. My Mom took the print you sent me, and now has it on display in her home for all to see. She thinks it is totally neat.

Flabulously yours, Karla"

"Attention. Flight 97 has been delayed due to a distraction in the pilots' and the ground crew's path of vision."

Waiting at Gate 15 is Karla. This ever so lively blonde minx is also appropriately identified as FabFatGirl--at least to her friends online. Because I can boast to being among that elite crowd, I'm allowed to kid her about her striking resemblance to garden gestapo Martha Stewart (a much, much younger Martha albeit). Since Karla knows of my amorous obsession with Ms. Stewart and that teasy flank of golden tresses swept over her left eye, a compliment was how she took the comparison. So being offered the opportunity to render a plus-size Martha was...well...quite painless to say the least.

Classic pin-up art of the 1940s has been in my veins lately. Can't get enough of those frisky little dogs yanking off some distressed damsel's colorful frock, or some incorrigible water hose catching a bathing beauty off guard. Well, I thought the comely Karla and her alluring anatomy lent itself nicely to traditional cheesecake tease art, and apparently so did Karla since she provided me with much creative input. As a matter of fact, she offered a classic pin-up art title to accompany the piece: Flights of Fancy.

Cotton candy-colored luggage...apple red lipstick...wind-swept dress...pronounced girly pose. I hope I've done my forefathers Elvgren, Petty and Varga proud.

Before we board our plane, may I offer you all a bit of useless Toilsome trivia? The name of the airline, as seen on the gate sign behind Karla, is Dugdale Airlines. I have an original 1961 Gil Elvgren pin-up calendar above my computer desk, and Dugdale Meat Packing Company is the name of the client on this calendar. As I said, ya won't win a million dollars from Regis Philbin knowing that trivia, but what the hey, huh?

Karla, thanks for a fun slice of cheesecake.
