"Well, this Information Goddess couldn't be happier with the results...and while I certainly agree that the technical artistry in this piece is AMAZING, what I like most about it is that my smile was captured perfectly!"

Heather

It's no news flash that librarians are often the subject of many a romantic day dream. And book caretakers like our Heather above certainly don't help matters much by sauntering past our table while our attention is supposed to be focused on less stimulating matters like Martha Stewart's Philosophy of Feng Shui in The Bathroom Volume Six.

Postulating on this subject Heather, herself, says, "I've personally never thought that Librarians or Librarianship was all that exciting. But I've changed my mind in the last few years ... I've been told by more than one member of the opposite sex that librarians are sexy. Personally, I don't understand the allure of the librarian, but, it's made for a fantastic concept for this piece".

Now on to more technical matters. Would I be coming across as vain and vapid for applauding the success of that shiny library floor? I've rendered reflective surfaces in my life, but I really wanted that library floor to gleam with a vengeance. How I approached it was I basically considered it a mirror surface and duplicated everything in the room upside-down and in that duo-tone shade of blue. As a final touch of dimension I cast shadows from Heather and the ladder on the floor. Not too complicated at all really, and I'm sure only other artists can fully understand (or give a damn for) my giddiness for this meager accomplishment.

I also want to say I much prefer rendering female gams over a shelf full of books any ol' day. I thought drawing the engine of a motorcycle was a test of endurance until I took on a well-stocked library. But in all sincerity, the final product made every second of my effort worthwhile. And I just dig when someone comes up with a vintage pin-up art concept that I've yet to tackle. So who's complaining about books, ya know?

Heather, tip o' the Toil hat for the fantabulous idea and for having interest in my work in the first place. And fortunately the librarians in my town were not nearly as attractive as you when I was a kid, because if that were the case, I'd probably be teaching literature at Yale instead of immortalizing large and lovely maidens. And how tragic would that be??
